Course description
The Berlin School of Public Engagement and Open Science, based at the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin, offers a range of Public Engagement training opportunities. These aim to open up research culture beyond academia, in order to systematically address societal challenges.
Our training portfolio provides a journey for researchers from all disciplines to develop their engagement practice. Based on a set of foundational modules and optional pathways, it explores the landscape of Public Engagement, practical building blocks for high quality engagement, and a variety of creative formats. The sessions are highly interactive, with a focus on exchange and practical learning. Participants who join the portfolio also gain access to additional support, such as expert lunch talks and networking sessions, which supports the development of an engaged research community.
For professionals who seek to cultivate engaged research within their institutions, we offer the ChangeMaker Academy. This two-day intensive programme focuses on how to build strategies and foster support for engagement in local contexts, through a lively mix of Masterclasses, hands-on workshops and professional exchange.
Examples of modules offered:
- Practical Public Engagement
- Research Storytelling
- Introduction to Evaluation
